Lt. Colonel W. S. Codrington's classic "Know Your Horse" has been used as a reference book for British Horse Society examinations for many years. Now completely revised and updated by Peter Gray, it will continue to be of inestimable value to many more generations of students and horse owners. Its contents include anatomy and physiology, lameness and fractures, the foot and shoeing, inflammation and wounds, infectious and parasitic diseases, physical therapy, digestive and respiratory disorders, diseases of the eye, skin and circulation, stable management and hygiene, care of the mare and foal, nursing the sick animal and first aid.

About the Author
Lt. Colonel Codrington, the son of a successful horse breeder, was a highly respected veterinary surgeon who exhibited and judged in the show ring, and trained and rode point-to-point horses. A man of wide experience, he wrote Know Your Horse to meet the needs of grooms, owners and students in the sixties. Peter Gray qualified as a veterinary surgeon at University College Dublin in 1964. He has spent most of the intervening years in equine practice, during which time he has gained wide clinical experience in both stud and racing spheres. His particular fields are physical and preventative medicine, the influence of virus disease on performance, and the areas of physiotherapy and lameness.
