2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected., 11 Aug 2001
Basically just a drawing (not photo) of each cap badge and regiment or unit name underneath. Quite disappointed really.

2.0 out of 5 stars Awful in layout ..., 16 May 2003
By Chris Marsh (Papakowhai, Wellington New Zealand) - See all my reviews
... but the only book that I know that is devoted entirely to British forces Stay Bright cap badges.

Being one of the few collectors in the world of Stay Bright cap badges I have to admit that the book actually does it's job in providing a reference of these badges with some exceptions.

As such, a collector can identify some obscure Yeomanry badge from the line drawing given. For the record, I don't mind using line drawings here as I use the book just for identification purposes. I can though, identify with other collectors who might like to see a real colour picture of the badge and possible some history such as when the badge was first made and last issued.

The books main problem though is in the layout. There appears to be no true grouping (although an attempt is made) of the badges into distinct orders. The layout is of just page after page of line drawings of the badges without any breaks.

Where do Cavalry badges start and Yeomanry or Infantry badges start? Why are the Rifle Brigage badges in with some Infantry and not grouped with the other Brigade badges?

OK, just look in the index. This is a mess too with an attempt to group badges but again it fails. I often need an index in name order (most indexes are) to locate a badge quickly but this is missing

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Christmas Gift, 11 Jan 2003
The book consists of black and white sketches and no real useful information to help determine which are scarce,of value or even the years they were in issue.
The only real use would be as a tick book to remind you of what you have.
On the whole, I wish I had used the money towards somthing else.
