4.0 out of 5 stars An invaluable history of the last century's typographers., 22 May 2001
By A Customer
An approachable and enjoyable look back at typography and the people that designed much of the twentieth century's typefaces. So many books on typography rather clumsily lump decades and trends togethor, as though they should be inextricable in the readers mind. Although Lewis Blackwell has used the ten decades to create his chapters the relationships between typographers as they move through the last century forms a strong narrative, making 'Remix' very readable as well as informative. The section at the back of the book which lists and defines the families of typefaces are invaluable to students and professionals alike. This book could replace another three or four academic works.
