This book is still well worth owning even though it was first published nearly a quarter of a century ago. It offers recipes for a wide range of appealing desserts that are not difficult to make. The author's directions are so clear and detailed that even beginning cooks should have no trouble following them.

I would also like to recommend "Maida Heatter's Book of Great Chocolate Desserts".

Great Tasting deserts never go out of style, 19 Jul 1999

This was my first desert book. I still have the paperback book I bought 15 years ago, and I still love it. Everything is wonderful and with few acceptions very easy. These are the sort of receipes that once you give them a try you will be making for the rest of your life.

Desserts aren't any better than this, 30 Mar 1998

Over two decades ago, I purchased a copy because Craig Clairborne of the New York Times mentioned it was his favorite dessert cookbook. I've purchased many of its competitors throughout the years, but this book has remained the dessert resource I've turned to again and again.

Unfailingly, the recipies get raves, and are the most requested from my family and friends. Because of this book, I've become known as the "dessert wizard." I couldn't recommend this book more highly
