5.0 out of 5 stars Essential!, 8 Jun 2004
By A Customer
This is a fantastic book; easy to read and you don't have to have much previous knowledge or experience to fully grasp the insights offered within its pages.
This book should be a foundation for parental education, as it, not only explains how the brain constructs and heals itself, but also clearly shows how parental interaction with a child (or lack of it) directly influences the way the child's brain will physically develop. The essential read for every parent, carer, teacher, social worker and policy maker!

3.0 out of 5 stars Very readable. Very interesting., 22 Jul 1998
By A Customer
It's not the kind of book one would normally take on vacation for beach and dock reading but I did and as a teacher of 3 to 6 year olds and a mother I was gratified to see that what has been felt for years is finally being proven. We, as teachers watch and see alot and it is the environment of the child's life that ultimately makes the difference and now the proof is in. I also recommend it for anyone who has suffered from depression or alcoholism, the explanations are clear and make sense.
