I highly recommend this book!, 15 Nov 2003
After having to read this bok for my A-Levels in English Literiture, The first 5 chapters are very tedious, but once you actually get into the book, McEwan's finest book is absolutely fantastic!Meet Joe, Mr. Rational, the guy that has to break things down into atomic theory before he can understand anything, and see how Mr. Religeon Jed Perry turns Joe's world upside down, and how homophobic Joe thinks Jed, sufferer of the fictionous De Clarembault's syndrome, is only after sex when he finds Jed waiting outside his posh apartment in London. Clarissa, Joe's common-law wife, doesn't believe Joe at all and neither do the police, claiming Joe might be imagining everything about 'Jed' but will you read on untill you reach the novels climax? The novel, Enduring Love, starts off with the tragic death of an unknown man, John Logan, in a terrible balloon accident, but that is the last thing on Joe's mind when he gets uncountable amounts of letters a week and he is gently led astray from the one woman he could ever love. The film will be released in 2004 and i highly recommend you people buy and read the book first, i loved it and many people did too, especially with McEwan's outragous humour thrown in everywhere to make sure you are still awake amongst the science drool. Overall I really think everyone should read this, it will be a smash hit in 2004 and the book absolutely rules, and this is coming from a 16 year old male!!
