3.0 out of 5 stars good, 3 Jul 2008
By SKWATSON "diamond" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is good but if you have read book like this before then you won't find anything new it all says the same thing in the end. If you want something controversial and different I recommend `an essential guide for serious singers and musicians.' Why? It is rare for writers to be honest and frank about what really goes on inside the music industry and bold enough to speak out against it. It also points out that you can make it big time without the music industry and most books don't tell you this! I don't think that I can find any book anywhere that really starts from the fundamental leading to progressive knowledge of the inside workings of the music industry regarding its control and unfair monopoly over bands. Okay this book is good for loads of information but if falls short of what I think is required i.e. the fuller picture of the music world. This book you can also get on Amazon

3.0 out of 5 stars Written like a get rich quick book....., 29 Jul 2009
I get the impression that the author of this book, has not really made money from getting his own music placed in Film and TV, but has made a living from his website(s) and books.....it does read like one of those "how to make a million in a year" type books.

It does however cover most of the basics of music placement, but just think it could/should have been done much better.
