Product Description

Synopsis

Technology is changing the dynamics of the recording industry. Home recording set-ups are of such high quality and affordable price that some of the most creative music today is coming from garages, bedrooms and studies. This manual covers equipment and recording techniques from the most basic to the highly sophisticated, including tape recorders, sequencers, inexpensive mikes, and more. The format of the book parallels buying patterns: each chapter adds to a basic system the way a user would. Along the way illustrations and diagrams clarify the instructions and uncomplicate the technology.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book,but not a great book!, 19 Jul 1999
By A Customer
I own a copy of this book and I am a bit displeas- ed. It doesn't dwell with using compressors or any effects units. Which is most important,to the home recordist. If there are others out there who own this book, also. I would like to hear from you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterful!, 6 Dec 1998
By A Customer
This book has it all. A wonderfully condensed introduction to recording. All the essentials, and a bit of wit to help things along. I can't reccomend it enough.
