5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent reference guide for working actors., 25 Jun 1999
By A Customer
Mr.Hooks' comprehensive guide to monologues and scenes is both succinct and insightful. He gives the reader knowledge of the level of difficulty of a piece as well as offering advice on its strengths and weeknesses from a first hand perspective.

4.0 out of 5 stars a must for audtioning actors, 1 Mar 1999
By A Customer
It's about time!!! Thank-you Mr. Hooks. Your book has been a God send, I don't have time to read every play ever written to find a great monologue. Your book did that for me, the short reviews you did were just enough to give me the flavor of the character, situation and play. Thanx for your hard work.

5.0 out of 5 stars WORTH EVERY PENNY!, 28 Feb 1999
By A Customer
This book has saved me the time and agony of sifting through hundreds of plays trying to find good material. It has summaries of each scene and monologue, and where to begin and end. I'm just starting acting, and this resource has given me guidelines and direction when choosing pieces. I feel it would be a good book for actors of all levels who are looking for creative, interesting and challenging new scenes to work on. How about a book on film and TV work Ed?
