I'm from a small town. Believe me, not everyone in a small town sleeps with everyone else. This book was filled with sex. I don't have anything against sex. I would, however, like a plot to go along with it. If this book had one, could someone please tell me what it was.

Stella Cameron writes one great tale;both funny and poignant, 19 Dec 1997

Dallas Calhoun came to Decline, Georgia seeking a confrontation with Rae Maddy, the woman he believed to be the mistress of his brother-in-law and who jointly embezzled funds from the family company. He is a bit shocked when he meets Rae, who is a tough fighter who has made a decent life for herself and her child. He is even more stunned when she denies any knowledge of his charges. Instead she tells him that she thought John was her legal spouse, who traveled a lot selling refrigerator parts. Rae visits Dallas' home base in Glory, Texas, determined to learn the truth about the person she thought was her husband, the man who died in a mysterious plane crash. As Rae searches for the truth, Dallas trails right behind her, observing everything she does. These two enemies soon find themselves attracted to each other. However, before the pair can explore a relationship, there are people in Glory who will do anything, including kidnapping a little girl, to keep them apart. Rae and Dallas risk their lives to rescue her beloved child. Stella Cameron's contemporaries are always steamy romances with an Alpha hero that is impossible to resist and THE BEST REVENGE fits that model to a T. The sexual tension is so torrid, readers can see the hot vapor rising from each page. However, there is a lot more to this novel than sexy love scenes. The multi-layered story line is so complex, the audience is constantly kept off balance, unable to stop reading until the book is finished. Ms. Cameron is at her stellar best with this classy tale. The plot was worthwhile....., 29 Dec 1998

I enjoy reading stories whose plots take twists and turns, leaving me wondering what would happen next. The Best Revenge definitely delivers on that score. There are so many characters that one never knows what is going to happen next and to whom. Keeps you on the edge wondering.I found it difficult, however, to get used to the idea of who was sleeping with whom. It just seemed like everyone was sleeping with EVERYONE else. Call me naive, but from where I come from, no one lives their lives like that. I also found it difficult to come to grips with the idea that everyone was related to everyone else, literally and figuratively. Do small towns really work like that? Overall, if you are looking for something to read, and this type of storyline appeals to you, its not a bad read.
