One in seven adults and one in five children suffers from learning disabilities, which affect their capacity to interpret what they see and hear or to link information from different parts of the brain. About the Author
Carol Turkington is a medical writer with a degree in journalism and 25 years of professional writing experience. She is the author or coauthor of several other Facts On File books. Joseph R. Harris, Ph.D., has worked as a school district psychologist, special education director, psychological researcher, and child and adolescent psychological diagnostician. He lives in South Carolina.
