1.0 out of 5 stars very poor indeed., 3 Jan 2005
By A Customer
This book reads like a 10 year old's school project on fashion. Badly illustrated, shoddily researched, and not at all in-depth.
If you really want the lowdown on the styles of the decade then get 'Everyday Fashions of the Forties'. That book is a winner.
This book, I'm sorry to say, is a waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book gives you a really good insight into 60s fashion, 5 Feb 2001
By A Customer
As well as showing you fashion crazes it tells you about the inspiration behind these fashions and what new fabrics were used for them. I found it really helpful with my studies because it tells you what was happening in the outside world when the designs were made. It definitely opens your eyes to what went on then, if like me, you weren't lucky enough to be there, or if you were it would certainly bring back memories. The illustrations and photographs bring to life the whole 60s experience and make it even more fascinating then I originally thought it was. This book is worth buying just to dip into every now and again even if you are not studying fashion.
