If you are a project manager or business analyst looking for practical support in corporate portal development this might look like the book you need to read but it isn't.

The book is full of checklists but the issues and their explanations are far too broad to be of any help - you end up feeling like the author knows a lot more but doesn't want to tell you for the cover price.

Cover looks good though and the book is thick and heavy, so your fellow passengers will be suitably impressed when you read it on the train or plane!

This book smacks too much of that "10 things you should do" or "become a CEO overnight" school of management.

The author has identified all the right kind of issues but, when you want to get any detail, or be given any practical answers, the text runs out and she's on to another topic. It's all really too high-level to be of practical use for anyone tasked with project managing the implementation of a corporate portal.

Its a thick book and the cover looks good though, so your fellow passengers will be impressed when you read it on the plane or train!
