This is of little use to anyone in the UK wishing to acquire or show a Burmese. Aimed at the US market all information on buying, registering, legal contracts, showing, cat clubs etc is for the US. They even call the colours by different names and have different standards. The other information is okay - but not a lot more than I'd already found on the Net via the UK Burmese clubs & breeders.

A great book for anyone who is thinking of getting a Burmese. This book covers all of the basics of looking after your cat or kitten. It includes information on what to look for if you are thinking of getting a Burmese for showing or breeding - but do be aware that it is aimed at the USA show/breeding circuit. It's well worth having a copy - even if it's just for the glorious photos.

I read this book in one go immediately after recieving it. The photographs are wonderful and it is very informative. The first chapter is written for cat lovers by a cat lover and I enjoyed it the most. There is a lot of detailed and facinating information about the genetics of how the breed developed. Only one small drawback it has a lot of info specifically for the U.S. and their standard, interesting all the same. Buy it if you have a Burmese.
