Some say that Star Wars was not only the first movie to fully exploit movie tie-ins and cross-promotion, but also hold it responsible for ushering in the era of the movie poster collector.

This veritable encyclopaedia of theatrical and commercially released posters comes with excellent coverage of all the main styles of posters together with many of the more obscure ones, covering in detail 350 of the 2000+ posters that have been issued worldwide in Star Wars' history. For the collector there are plenty of detailed photos, many full page, all colour. The more important and debated posters come with plenty of background detail, often citing primary sources ranging from the artist to the printer. Want to know the history of the PG Style A, or the dated and undated Revenge of the Jedi? The story behind the Selby Cantina poster? It's all here, and plenty more.

The book comes with a highly useful (though too short) section on bootlegs and how to spot them, together what appears to be a near-complete detailed listing of every single poster ever issued, anywhere, for the series, showing size, publisher, a short description and, for want of a better term, a pretty spot-on "collectability" rating.

Easily the best reference on this area of Star Wars memorabilia; a must-have for any serious collector or fan of sci-fi poster art.
