Product Description

Product Description

"Butter Comes from Butterflies" gathers the strange and wonderful beliefs of small children into a small, charming, illustrated volume. Part misunderstanding, part imagination, imminently logical and entirely entertaining, reminiscences such as "I used to think sheep shrank when it rained" are so unique and hilarious they could have only come from kids. Grown-ups everywhere will chuckle with recognition over confessions like "I thought that if you ate watermelon seeds, a watermelon would grow in your stomach" and charming illustrations that bring out the humour in every entry.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a little treasure!, 20 Aug 2004
By A Customer
This is a terrific book, little in size but not in content. If ever you grasped the wrong end of the stick as a child (and who didn't?), you'll find something here to delight you. With intelligent use of type and sweet illustrations, this is a book you'll dip into time and time again, finding a nugget of treasure every time. Who are these people and where do their weird beliefs come from? Some of them made me think 'ah yes, I used to believe...' and some made a big question mark appear over my head ;) Many of them made me laugh aloud, not something I do very often: you see, when I was a child I used to believe that if you laughed out loud, your teeth fell out. I think my parents told me that to stop me making too much noise when the radio was on...
