This book is a primarily pictoral look at salt lake racing from the early 50's and 60's. The pictures are certainly evocative of a specific era and genre of race car/hot rodder but for anyone looking for a historic narrative then this is not going to fit the bill. Of its type the book is very good, I'm just not sure who its actually aimed at. I bought it, flicked through it in about 20 minutes and to be truthful have never opened it again. Its not big enough for a reference book and if you read any of the regular hot rod periodicals then you probably won't have reason to pick this up.

Not much to say about this one, really. A nice selection of hot rod and drag racing photos in the style of the cover pic with themes covering Chop Shop, Greasers and Dollies, and Bonneville and El Mirage. Suitably grainy sepia throughout, with some nice design touches thrown in. Worth a look if that's your bag.
