Lauren Myracle is a graduate of the Vermont College MFA program in writing for children and young adults. She is the author of the New York Times best-selling Internet Girls series (ttyl, ttfn l8r, g8r) and Rhymes with Witches, among many other books for teenagers and young people. She grew up in Atlanta and currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado, with her husband and their three young children.

We were traveling with the family of my daughters best friend so I bought these for them for the plane. They loved it! Worked on it during downtime and my daughter still uses it and writes in it at home. The girls are ages 10 and 11.

Parents should think carefully. The book may or may not be appropriate depending on your family's views, etc. The book is recommended for age 12 and up. One of the pop quizzes is about your "bad girl urges" and one of the choices was "smoking pot". Another pop quiz is about spring break activities. One choice is "getting a tattoo." (P. 34). Perfect gift from your boyfriend--"fishnet stockings." (P 35). P 41--" what would you do if your friend got drunk at a party" and insisted on driving? P. 62 & 63. Can you talk to a boy about "the down-and-dirty deets of yr sex life" and "birth control (when u think ur ready to get it). That is just a handful of examples in a book that is 250 pages long. Personally, I think 12 is too young. Also, as another reviewer mentioned--I personally find the "text" grammar and spelling difficult to read

I liked the book especially the quizzes in fact the only thing wrong with it was some minor quality when I received it. There was about six pages or so ripped out (I bought one labeled new) and two pages already written on. The rest of the book was fine though and it shipped to me in excellent timing. But I would've preferred to be able to use all of my pages, thank you very much.
