Product Description
Synopsis
Make way for the Marquis of Carabas...and his cat, Puss in Boots! This beloved fairy tale about a clever cat and his young master gets an exciting new life through the art of Steve Light. With bright collages featuring patterned papers and fabric, this lively retelling will be a favorite with youngsters everywhere. When an old miller dies, he leaves everything to his three sons - and the youngest just gets the cat. But Puss persuades her young master to buy her a sturdy pair of boots - and then she swings into action! Soon she is visiting the king and presenting him with gifts of fresh game, presents from "the Marquis of Carabas," as she has renamed the miller's son. Then one fateful day, the king mentions that he will be taking his beautiful daughter for a carriage ride through the countryside. Puss quickly arranges for them to rescue the Marquis from "drowning" in the river. Then, running ahead of the carriage, she convinces all the peasants to tell the king that he is traveling through the lands of the Marquis. At last, Puss outsmarts a diabolical (but very rich) ogre to obtain a suitable home for the Marquis - and not a moment too soon, for here comes the king's carriage!
