3.0 out of 5 stars A simple introduction to the works and life of Van Gogh, 21 Jan 2002
If you want to learn more about Van Gogh, his painting and life then this is the book for you. Although his earlier work (1880-1884) is skimmed through in a fairly disappointing manner for true fans, all the classics are there. From the two starry nights to the yellow house. The book is dominated by the impressionist paintings of Vincent, although there is little of his interaction with the other great painters of the time like Toulouse-Lautrec and Gaugin. However, this is a thoroughly pleasant outline of one of the greatest artists ever seen. It is simplistic enough for even the art-phobic to enjoy!
