4.0 out of 5 stars A detailed intro' to the principles of Chinese medicine, 22 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This book met my needs in terms of depth where others I've browsed have failed to - but it might well be too deep for some readers who don't perhaps wish to be able to comprehend the finer points of pulse diagnosis or Chinese diagnostic patterns. It fails to say much about selection of acupuncture points - or of herbs - however it's strength is in how it gives an understanding of principles - especially in how they compare to those of Western medicine.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Web That Has No Weaver, 3 Aug 2002
By Lou Lou (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I just started a course in Acupuncture and was recommended this book. It's great for medical students like me who want to read about the scientific side of chinese medicine and how it compares with western medicine. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about traditional chinese medicine in a frank way. No hocus pocus writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bible for those interested in traditional Chinese medicine, 16 Jan 2000
By A Customer
Ted K has trained in both Western and traditional Chinese medicine and he is probably only one of a handful of practitioners round the world who can best explain how the two disciplines compare, what their strengths and weaknesses are and so on. If you are interested in traditional Chinese medicine and want more than just an A-Z guide, this is the book to read (and I haven't yet seen the updated version!). Ted K knows his stuff!
