4.0 out of 5 stars Very good reference guide., 20 Oct 2003
This book took me back to training articles that I had lost or forgotten, and that were very useful to my current regime.

If you study Tae Kwon-do twice a week as a hobby, or 10 hours a week on your way to dominating the sport, this book is very useful to your training.

Buy it, read it, love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars A nice reference tool!, 14 Jan 2007
By Alexander J. Malt "Caladin Ho" (Durham) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is essentially a collection of articles on Tae Kwon-Do, categorised into sections on the art's history, training methods, techniques, 'self-defence principles', 'taking it to the street' and 'beyond the technical'.

Overall the book functions as a good reference tool for practitionners from all styles of Tae Kwon-Do and at any level, mainly due to the fact the it concentrates on how to best train rather than style-specific dogma. For a beginner it is a great tool as it is a good overview of all aspects of training.

For the more advanced practitionner, it is very likely that you will know most of this already. Although such is the range of the articles that there will always be something that you can learn. As a result I would recommend buying it if you wish for a few interesting tips, but for more indepth study I'd recommend buying books that concentrate on the areas of training themselves, e.g. weight training, stretching etc...
