This facsimile of the manuscript is well done. A brilliant study of the history of this text, its owners, scribe/s and style is included on the first few pages. Detailed informative pages on the leaves which appear are also helpful in understanding the text and its use.The quality of reproduction is high but could be a little higher as some of the hairlines printed are barely visible and would be invisible to the untrained eye. That said, most of the illustrations are clearly reproduced and the representation of the grasille paintings are of a high quality. One other problem which arises in this facsimile is the poor quality of gilded letters and their corresponding embellishment. It should be noted that both these are notoriously difficult to reproduce but nonetheless essential to student and admirer of manuscripts. It is unfortunate that this problem occured in printing. There seem to be more disadvantages to advantages in this review but this is not the case with the facsimile. Yes there are problems but all in all the overall effect is good and pleasing. Calligaphic reproduction is, in most cases, of such a high qualtiy that the stroke order is apparent. This text, its extremely useful introductry notes and folio notes, bibliography and reproductions will be worth alot to the historian, calligrapher, heraldic artist and anyone else, for that matter, who appreciates good things. Paul Antonio is an heraldic artist and a calligrapher
