Product Description

Product Description

You could learn to ten-pin bowl by spending hours at the bowling money, paying high equipment-rental fees - or you could train with this expert author who will teach you simple, one-at-a-time techniques. Start by getting acquainted with the lane, the pins, and the ball, learn scorekeeping and rules, as well as tips on warmup exercises and balancing techniques. Most important is the section on choosing the right ball for you - getting the proper fit and grip, as well as gloves, wrist support and shoes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Starting Foundation, 5 Dec 2002
A well presented title,it has excellent Photographs and the diagrams are clear and easy to understand. If you have just started Ten Pin bowling there is a multitude of information to digest, obviously how in depth you wish to go is relevant to your own personal expectations and how much you wish to practice.
I have read a fair number of titles on Ten pin bowling and this particular book covers a wide range of the skills needed to raise your game from that of the "Childrens Party" participant to that of a person with a good basic overall knowledge of the sport.
There are different sections in the book that deal with Pre-shot routines, different hand releases, starting position and the targeting of spares. Along with chapters on Bowling equipment and a glossary of the various terms and language of Ten Pin Bowling.
Overall a well presented and knowledgeable title for those Just begining in the sport who wish to improve their game.
