This is a truly gorgeous book. I have never thought about soapmaking but this has really inspired me.
It has one recipe per page with beautiful colour photos to go with them. There are easy to follow instructions and websites to order your supplies from...
An excellent present in itself, but with it you can create beautiful gifts easily and cheaply. Fantastic!

The title of this book is somewhat misleading. Apart from soap this book also contains instructions for creating Potpourri, bubblebath, tub teas, bath bombs and massage oil etc. There are good sections on moulds, colourants, use of botanicals, the properties of various soap bases and an informative section on fragrance blending. The book has a 50/50 split between soap recipes and other bath products and probably in the region of 60 ideas in total with large full page pics. The pics did however feel like a tool to pad out the book a bit. For example at the end of the book there are 18 pages of pics devoted to how the various items can be wrapped or combined as gifts which seemed repetitious, self explanatory and not worthy of such a large space. It was also lacking in the clever melt and pour techniques I was hoping for. Although the recipes are nice, it was more a case of 'melt this base with this colour and this fragrance and pour into mould' .This said, I think this is a nice book for anyone new to this craft who wants to use basic utensils from around the house, and who is looking for nice foolproof recipes. However what makes a good craft book for me is one that makes me want to dash off and get cracking. This book did not do this for me. It's a nice book but perhaps not inspirational.
