A good read., 5 Jan 2001

I found this book offered good information to the reader, and indeed most of the techniques are that of somewhat an advanced level. But the author does phrase the book in a very easy-to-read style, that allows you to brush over each subject. But i'm sure like any good book you'll read it again. The tecniques found in this book are wonderful ones, some the oldest forms of magick. It's great to see that an author has written and has published these techniques. Such as aura changing and advanced dreamwork and many other techniques.(Its nice to find them all in one book!) As i'm sure you are all aware on the mulitude of ''getting started'' books on the market. Once you pass that stage i believe a lot comes from what you have learnt and how you personally adapt that. But still it's nice to have such books for reference, different methods and techniques. Though the excersises in the book are detailed in what they are. There isn't too much information on ''How to'' do them, (unlike some books that have pages and pages on how to, its nice to find and develope your own methods).Though i found this very appropriate, if you find yourself reading the book and feel you need the ''how to'' perhaps this is a good way of knowing that maybe you need a little longer on the basics. Not only does this book have techniques as the title suggests. But it also includes a lot of information on healing, serving the communtity, animal totems, invoking and many others. The author also asks you to ask yourself questions at different stages in the book, before the relevent chapter to see if you feel you are ready for the next tecniques. (Very well worked out.) for example: 'Do you know how to use and combine physical movement, sound, sensual input and visulization to build an direct power and mental focus?' One of my Fav. parts of the book has to be the quotes the author has kindly included in every chapter! Overall this book is a good read, good value and would make an excellent selection. to go in anyones collection, for reference. Hard to say four or five stars!?!??! No less than 4 from me. 4 and a third. Oh maybe 5. Its so hard to decide...lol.....Ok i give in the book was good and as i'm the only review so far lets start it off! 5*'s
