A non-intimidating approach to the Craft., 28 Jan 2000
By A Customer
I have read many of Scott Cunningham's books, as well as some of Silver Ravenwolf. There are a few others, such as Thorsen's Principles of Wicca and Embracing the Moon which also have much information. However, Ms. Hunter's approach is a common-sense one. Instead of stressing because I did not have all the proper tools, or wondering if I could write embellished, flowery rituals - let alone remembering the words at the proper times and sequences - she made me realize that it all is truly in the heart and that is where it should come from. I think Mr. Cunningham would have been proud to know that the art of his books and his teaching skills have been passed on to Ms. Hunter. This book is worth the purchase.

Just a little too superficial, 22 Feb 1999
By A Customer
This was one of the fist books that I got when I started looking into wicca. The title seemed catchy and it promised to appeal to young readers and new wiccans. And to a degree it does, but alot of times you get the feeling that there just isn't alot behind what she is saying. I suppose like any book you read it has to be taken with a grain of salt. This book does have some good advice, such as teen and college life, and some good meditation excercies. It definitely should at some time be included in your library if only as a reference. However if your looking for good "wicca 101" or advice books I would recommend Scott Cunningham or possibly Silver RavenWolf, although you still have to be careful with this author, as a solid starting point.

so valuable, 14 May 2001
By A Customer
this was one of the first books i ever read on wicca and i remember at the age of 15 feeling so lucky that i had come accross this book. It had everything i needed when i first became interested in paganism and wicca- support, simple exercises and a good background on wicca but most of all it make me feel part of something- i found her writing warm and comforting. I would definately suggest anyone reading this book but especially newcomers who may be feeling a little lost and overawed at everything.
