The book provides an excellent introduction for anyone interested in having a pet chipmunk. The main sections deal with housing, feeding and breeding chipmunks and include much of the information needed to take care of the little critters. The factors to be considered when buying a chipmunk are also discussed, as are potential health problems. As well as looking at chipmunks in detail, other species are also covered. These are: degus, flying squirrels and dormice. It should be noted that it is unlikely that the sections on these three animals would be sufficient to properly care for one, as they are only a couple of pages long.
