2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointingly sparse, 8 Jan 2004
Although this book sums up the life and times of Brandon Lee quite well, that is all it does. There is no great insight into exactly who Brandon was or any detailed accounts of significant events in his life. The research for the book seems second-hand, as in there appear to be no interviews arranged with other people who knew Brandon. Thus, the level of information here is pitifully low. Most of what you find can just as easily be discovered on internet websites. Incidentally, the book is extremely short. I read it in far less than an hour. So for the price it is sold at, it is very disappointing. Yes, I feel cheated!

Consider this book only if you don't mind shelling out a bit more than you should and know absolutely nothing about Brandon Lee. Cindy Dyson at least achieves what she probably intended; a short summary of his life. It is probably best suited for 'Young Adult' readers. Otherwise, don't bother. I am unaware of any other published biographies of the man. The book "The Crow: The Story Behind the Film" may offer a much more detailed view of his tragic death and on the circumstances of that particular film, but for a deeper understanding of Brandon himself, there is little else. If only the level of research found in that book were applied to his whole life rather than just one aspect of it. Brandon deserves more than this.
