5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!, 13 Aug 1999
By A Customer
This book fits exactly for someone like me - a recent graduate with two semesters in VB 5.0 who knows basic programming, yet still needs to learn a great deal more that is not written on a "dummies" level or that is way over my head. I have picked up a lot of little snippets that I did not previously know in the earlier chapters in addition to greatly expanding my VB knowledge in the later chapters. This book is extremely easy to read and explains everything very well. The price of this book is a good deal also, most computer books cost an arm and a leg and are nowhere near as good as this one.

Very good job Mr. Sheriff.

4.0 out of 5 stars A book that teaches the beginner to be a professional !, 26 April 2000
By S. T. Moore (Leicester, Leicestershire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is good! If the reader ignores the typo errors, then this book will teach the novice the detail required to become a competant operator in the field of VB programming. The end of chapter reviews ensure the student has gained the required information, and allows the reader to judge their own progress. The examples are based in the "real world" with the emphasis on using VB6 for employment requirements rather than small programmes that look good, but have no place in an intergrated work environment. Beginners in VB6 should buy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent in content and style, 23 Jul 1999
By A Customer
This book intended for beginners is one of the best books i have read. It's content and style are easy to comprehend. But the minus point is that it has gone thru pretty bad proof reading. There are typos in variable names which makes it annoying and confusing sometimes. But it makes an excellent impact on VB's image as an easy GUI program. Kudos to Paul sheriff and his team.
