It doesn't matter whether you are an experienced Office 97 user or a total beginner you will find this book invaluable. It covers everything you are likely to need in using all the Office 97 applications (Word 97, Excel 97, PowerPoint 97, Access 97 & Outlook 97), plus it also covers just about everything most people will need for Windows 95 and NT. It is easy to read, and understand with plenty of tips; and the actual screenshots it uses make the examples totally clear. If you are using Office 97 and want to teach yourself to use it competently without laying out a large sum of money for a course, or if you want a handy reference book with more information in it than the manuals this is almost certainly the book for you. It more than deserves its 5 crowns rating

I was a bit dissapointed when I read this book. I thought it would be more practical and homely than the one by Microsoft Press, but it says less and adds nothing a poorer style. The one by Microsoft Press is simply much better.

I was looking for a comprehensive reference for Office. I was surprised that it doesn't even get down to office till p123. It could be a good intro for newbies who need a general guide to Windows. Although Office 97 was eventually covered, Outlook and IE were in more dated versions.
