5.0 out of 5 stars An indispensable companion, 1 Feb 2001
By michellemiller100@hotmail.com (Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K.) - See all my reviews
This book became our bible when we were last in Paris. It's packed full of useful and interesting information. As we love our food and wine, we found the information on restaurants especially invaluable. We ate at four excellent restaurants featured in the DK book: the menu, price, description and location were all accurately described in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone. When I travel to Prague next month I will definately be buying the DK's Travel Guide to Prague - I am sure that DK will provide the same accurate and interesting information.

4.0 out of 5 stars The maps make it good, 28 Mar 2007
By John Ault (Edinburgh, Scotland) - See all my reviews

Paris is a city I know fairly well, as my in laws lived there for years so I had many a free holiday. This book is a very accessable guide to the city, as it is designed around accurate, 3D drawn maps that act as the centre piece for information about an area. Really easy to see how things fit togehter. The approach extends to major sites and buildings, with well drawn exploded pictures giving an easy summary of what there is to be seen. Conveys information at a very intuitive level, and allows you to spot the next place to go with ease. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, easy access information, best guide and metro m, 21 April 2002
This was the simplest guide to take with us to Paris. It has an extremely good metro map and beautifully illustrated, informative, concise information. The bliss of it was only having to carry one not very heavy item which was both a guide and a very detailed map of Paris. The history items were clear and helpful. We had two days to do an awful lot and were picking out certain areas to visit. The Eyewitness Travel Guide to Paris really made it possible including a long desired visit to the abbey church of St Denis. I would recommend this to anybody on a day trip or longer to Paris.
