5.0 out of 5 stars Rumpole marches on fuelled by cheap claret, and wit, 25 April 2001
By A Customer
Rumpole is back dealing with the usual legal menu of murders mishaps and good old fashioned conservative criminals. Mortimer skillfully stears Horace through the terrors inflicted by the old darlings on the bench, most notably the Mad Bull judge Bullingham, the continuous battle of wits with She Who Must be Obeyed (his wife Hilda) at their matrimonial mansion flat, and the health giving claret swigging session at Jack Pommeroy's distinguished legal watering hole. Fantastic, witty, thoroughly enjoyable, Mortimer has indeed created a character worthy of entering the hall of fame of great comic creations.
