5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 11 Dec 2002
By A Customer
This is a great book - indeed, a great series of books. The adventure of Liriel is as, if not more than, interesting and exciting than Drizzt's adventures. It delves more into drow psychology, shows more of the post-war decadence and decay and shows power struggles in the drow society. This book covers no less than 3 drow religions (in case you were wondering about other drow gods), as well as being a form of light introduction to rune magic.

All in all, a great book and a must read for Salvatore fans.

This book is brilliant. The characters are full of life and the plot twists are excellent. I'm off to buy more of Elaine's books! Anyone who is fascinated by the Drow should read this and love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars exciting and deliciously intriguing - this book has it all, 11 Aug 1999
By A Customer
For all lovers of Menzoberranzan's intrigue, and for all those who like mages this book is a must read. Liriel Baenre is a beutifully fleshed out character whose chaotic ways will make you fall in love with her. The novel also provides a lot of infomation about the political state of Menzoberranzan for any who want to know how what happened after the war (in Siege of Darkness).
