If you are looking for an epic stop now, because this isnt one. Instead this is a truly thrilling and exciting read set in the dark corners of Palanthas. If you love the character of Jimmy the hand in Magician and the exploits of a true cunning (and lovable) character this is for you. Forget the fact that Tanis had another son, who cares? Caelthalas is ten times more inspiring and interesting than Tanis anyway! Unlike the Dragonlance Chronicles which are good but are more like glorified linked D&D adventures than true epic books (although still very good!) TTG is full of deep and intringuing plots and the characters are really full of life, the settings very well drawn. Plus although some may say Cael is not a true fantasy 'from the kitchen to the throne' character and is merely a superhero in elf form this makes him even more enthralling and exciting. The story is a great achievemant of making a smallish story into a rollercoaster of a read. Buy it now!!

Except learning that Tanis had a second son (mysterious origin), this is more a mystery book than a fantasy to me. I do not recommend reading it, if you expect great insights into the post-Chaos times.

This is one of the best Dragonlance titles there is. Jeff Crook has written a superb novel with an excellent plot and great character development. This is a hard book to put down once you start reading it.
