2.0 out of 5 stars Great promise, but disappointingly bland., 18 Jun 1999
By A Customer
I thought that a book focussing on the Knights of Solamnia and the Knights of Takhisis would be great. Here were two of the most powerful organizations on Krynn, utterly opposed to one another and living on honour and glory. Not so with this book. The two Knighthoods plan an unlikely merger, placing aside such petty concerns as patron deities and (in the case of the Solamnics) about two thousand years of fighting for the cause of good. Lord Gunthar's parting gift to the Knighthood turns out not to be the revised Measure which revived the Knights in the Fifth Age, but rather the dawdling scribbles of a senile old man--not exactly reminiscent of the powerful figure who led the Knighthood through the War of the Lance. Don't be inticed by the thoughts of a glorious storyline centred around the conflict of these bitter rivals-find something else to put on your shelf.
