2.0 out of 5 stars Not one of Niles' better works., 18 May 1999
By A Customer
With a good, proper, nasty character like Fistandantilus and a top-class author like Doug Niles, I'd expected something better. Instead, what you get for your money is a plodding story centred around a boy and some kender wandering around completely unaware that they're being watched by one of Krynn's major villains. The most interesting part of the book was the historical lead-up of the first few chapters which explains how the Bloodstone of Fistandantilus passed through the ages; the story it leads to is unquestionably disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fistandantilus Reborn., 19 Mar 2003
By Paul Hamilton (United Kingdom.) - See all my reviews
I bought this book, because I have always wondered about the life of Fistandantilus before he helped Rastlain pass the test of magic. Unfortunately I should have read more into the title.

The book chronicles, a historian's attempt to piece together what happens after the skull mountain is created, (near the time of the cataclysm.) and subsequent appearence of fistandantilus, as a story goes it's not gripping, but as a background to one of the two evilist archmages in the dragonlance books, it is interesting to see how threads are brought together, all in all it is not actually a bad book, if not a bit boring at times.
