When I write an RPG supplement, my primary purpose is to give Narrators tools to create their own adventures. As of this writing, I think 'Heroes of Defiance' is one of the most succesful attempts at this.

Among the features of this set are wide-ranging campaign guidelines for rougish characters within the DRAGONLANCE setting and what amounts to a self-contained gaming area with the world of Krynn.

The sourcebook in this set features never-before revealed historial, geographical, and cultural information about the island of Northern Ergoth... the oldest human civilization on Ansalon has now been described in gaming terms.

In addition, the adventure in the set ties loosely to Jean Rabe's 'The Day of the Tempest' novel, presenting a map of Relgoth and describing that city in game terms. However, there are some significant deviations from the storyline of the novel, so that Narrators who wish to play beyond the books will find plenty of room to do so.
