3.0 out of 5 stars Too much book for Gully Dwarves, 10 Nov 2002
I originally knew the Gully Dwarves only from short interventions in other Dragonlance novels, and they always made a very funny impression. However, you'll find that they're much funnier when interacting with humans. Gully on gully is just pretty much stupid, and thats what most of the first few chapters are all about, so it's hard to get this book started.
After that, some cool characters begin to appear, like Graywing the swordsman and Dartimien the assasin (they're both the "super-skilled" type of characters, very cool).
By the end you're pretty much interested in what's going on, so it's all good. Not the thickest story you'll ever read, but a good effort considering what nonsense characters the author was working with. Although the Gully Dwarves's actions are inconsistent with their supposed "un-intelligence" (they can't count past two but they can make fire...), the writing is pretty good.
All in all, three stars say it all.
