5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. White is finally getting the attention he deserves!, 16 Mar 2006
Its good to see “Dark Light” at the top of amazon's mystery/thriller Best seller list! Mr. White has been one of my favorite genre writers for a long time, hopefully he is finally getting the attention he deserves? Thanks again to my inside friend for getting me an advance readers copy of the book signed by the author!

This one takes a few pages to get rolling but once it does it’s a quality Doc Ford story ( I am biased as I love all the Doc Ford books!). This story takes a break from the thread that has run through the most recent books; that is Doc having to work as a Government assassin in order to keep the Feds away from Tomlinson, his old hippie pal. This time Doc is sent out to investigate a wreck washed ashore by a recent hurricane. Inside the wreck a Nazi medal is found among other WWII artifacts. I don’t like to give away too much, but this one packs in a lot of sub plots: there is the Nazi thing, a crazy guy who owns a marina who tries to claim the Nazi treasures, two Hurricanes one today and one in 1944, a mystery that involves the control of a significant amount of beach front real estate, and a sexy and mysterious older lady who lives nearby the wreck site! Doc ends up involved in a spiraling complex mystery, that White almost loses control of, but in the end he manages to bring it all together to a satisfying conclusion. Some might say this one develops too slowly but I enjoyed the pace, and when the action finally does explode, it takes your breath away!

This is another great addition to the series that should not be missed by fans and new comers alike. I know you guys are getting tired of hearing me say this, but also check out the thriller/adventure “Tourist in the Yucatan,” this is another author that deserves more attention.
