A respected television newsman and a talented artist meet in Venice and fall in love. They make a series of rendezvous but on the third meeting, only one of them is present. A tale of loyalty and loss set against backgrounds of Venice, New York and East Hampton.

Over the years I've read a lot of Barbara's books, (and will be placing other online reviews of her works).

This novel follows the life of Vanessa who loves art but decided to work for her parent's retail company. She is engaged to marry Stephen who also works for the company but she doesn't love him. She goes on a trip to Venice where she meets an Irish war correspondent who is really cute. That's all I'm going to say as I really don't want to spoil this great story.

By the way, if you love the novel, it was also made into a film which is also worth seeing. :-)

I really enjoyed this novel; I found it a compelling read. :-)
