5.0 out of 5 stars Kit learned how to free herself from her "cage"., 14 Jun 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cages (Paperback)
This story is about a girl named Kit who got caught shoplifting. This happened all because of her many problems at home and at school. Kit was sent to do community work at the Humane Society and she made friends with a dog named Lady. She decided to find a home for the dog but it was too late as the dog was soon put to sleep. From here, Kit learned that she had to free herself from her cage which required a lot of courage.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a sad, but good book, 24 May 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cages (Paperback)
The first time I read this book, I cried at some parts. It's about a girl who has an alcoholic step-dad and a work-aholic mom. She feels so alone, she steals something, gets caught, and winds up doing community work at a local animal shelter. She falls in love with a dog, and since she wants it to have a home, but can't keep it herself, she wants to surprise the shelter workers by giving it a home, as the statistics for animals getting homes are awful. It's a REALLY good book. I recommend this book to every pet lover in the world!
