This book is basically about co-dependency and the 10 stages to recovery. It helps the counsellor with interesting case histories and shows the stages of grief. Helpful tools are also given for "priming the pump" getting people to acknowledge their anger. You can also use it as a tool to work through with counselees.

In this book, several factors are discussed that lead to codependent relationships,including several kinds of subtle, unintentional abuse. Case studies are used to illustrate concepts, and the reader is guided gently in understanding how troubled relationships form and what can be done about them.

This is an excellent book, I can' hardly recommend it strong enough. I have read many books on the topic searching for answers and this one is the best I could find. Well written and really helpful.
