5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and comprehensive, 12 Mar 1999
By A Customer
The astronomy reference book I keep going back to time and again. Don't be intimidated by the title, it's not really "advanced" at all and is far more useful than the first book in the Skywatching series, which was too simplistic. The introductory chapter of this book is particularly nicely written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely user-friendly - worth the money., 7 Jan 1999

I love this book. After referencing several dozen intermediate astronomy books, I find myself going back to this book again and again. I really liked the format and it provided good reference points. It was informative and well worth buying. It always goes with me when I go gazing.

3.0 out of 5 stars A book one quickly outgrows., 30 Dec 1998
By A Customer
A pretty book with beautiful, clear graphics and simple, interesting explanations. Not "advanced," however, and only a bit more detailed than its primer, Skywatching. A very good children's book.
