I thought that the film was very tongue in cheek. I was not expecting Conan. The film script was basic, but I felt that Kevin Sorbo had the personality and the physical presence to pull it off.
I enjoyed the film immensely. It was great fun. I loved the romance and the good conquering evil concept.
The action scenes were well done. It is a very physical film.
The fight scenes are well choreographed.
If you are a fan of Andromeda and Hercules you will enjoy watching Kevin Sorbo as Kull.

I was a huge fan of Sword and Sorcery films (Conan, Red Sonya (yes, I know, not the greatest) She, (Sandahl Bergman-now there was a heroine), Xena, Herc and some of the Italian Sword and Sandal), and they don't make em like I liked em any more. I missed this epic when it was on Freeview a few weeks back, so I googled Amazon and found this NTSC version. Now it's no masterpiece, but what it is..is FUN. Kevin Sorbo makes a good Robert Howard hero, all bare muscular torso and (very) long hair, and he does have a pleasnt personality and can act. He is well partnered by the contrasting ladies (as they should be) - Tia Carrere (why was "Relic Hunter" not more popular?), who is sexy and so evil, and the, rather wooden except in a couple of scenes, Karin Lombard. Even our own Douglass Henshall and Edward "Ten Pole" Tudor have good parts. I thought the locations, Eastern Europe, were stunningly filmed, and the action well choreographed, if a bit overlong in places. SFX good for the budget (which I think was perhaps bigger than other reviewers seem to think). The widescreen excellent print all make this a fun film to be enjoyed, not analysed too much, just relax and go back to ancient times with the Conqueroo.

Not as bad film for sitting down after Sunday dinner with the kids,
Not a great all time classic film ,
but family entertainment..
Where the good always win , not as in real life..

Kull feels cheap. I really wanted to like this movie but it looks like an episode of Hercules. It doesn't have the epic scale of of the Conan movies or the charm of an old Sinbad flick. The story is great but the sets are OK at best. The female leads are stunning but Sorbo is too clean cut to pull off a Barbarian. Not a bad movie as such, just not a good one.

This film concerns how one of R. E. Howard's many creations Kull obtains his kingship and has to fight to hold and regain the throne against both men and magic as well as the unyielding laws of the state he now controls as king (which his enemies have no trouble in avoiding). There is plenty of action as a deposed Kull attempts to regain his kingdom by undertaking a journey to obtain a weapon to be used against his enemies. Tia Carrere makes an excellent villainess and the special effects hold up well.

Good action/fantasy film with plenty of action with Kevin Sorbo ( Hercules) making his presence felt and has a herculean task to deal with the evil protagonists.
