2.0 out of 5 stars No good, 23 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Don't buy this book if you are planning to learn ADO from scratch, or if you're new to VB. It's instructions are unclear and it's a drag to read. I'm an intermediate programmer and I would suggest looking elsewhere for a book to teach you about database programming. I couldn't even get to the examples because the CD was scratched when I removed it from the book. It does have some good content if you flick through the book, but I was looking for more solid examples of coding, which take you from beginning to end. Instead there are snippets of code dotted around the book, with few examples on how to set up a database connection, and use recordsets etc.

An excellent and detailed book in a well written and informative style. I have found it useful as both a reference and tutorial. The sections on TSQL and ADO were excellent introductions for me and I have found that my productivity has improved considerably
