As an SAP technical consultant currently cross training into Early Watch, I would highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to pursue a career in SAP R/3 performance monitoring and tuning.

The book offers a good foundation course and covers many important topics such as Workload Analysis, R/3 Table Buffering and Expensive SQL Statements. Each concept is explained clearly with relevant examples and screen shots from an SAP system, enabling readers to familiarize themselves with navigating through the system in conjunction with the theoretical aspects.

The book also comes with a CD-ROM that contains sample questions, useful for the preparation of the certification exams.
