From the Author
Giving Kids a Place to StartI wrote this book because I didn't think kids were getting help figuring out where to start with their learning about the Internet. Lists of sites that they can "surf" is not the best way for them to discover the power of this rich and deep technology.
Each chapter of the book contains 3 or 4 projects that are grouped by the nature of the communication: talking with experts, mobilizing other students into action, collaborating on experiments. The culmination of each project is a concrete and tangible product that they can share with friends, family and community.
It is my hope that kids learn how to use this great resource to better their own lives and the lives of the people around them. I love to hear from kids that use this book so send me an email!
