Kropotkin's cookery tome is both encyclopaedically thorough and accessible and I particularly liked some of the traditionally Russian style anecdotes that precede the recipes in each chapter.
Despite this, I find myself more regularly dipping into Leslie Chamberlain's larger and more pictorial Russian recipe book, simply because it is illustrated and therefore more apt for the coffee table flick or for verifying the look of the recipes(hopefully).
