Synopsis
A Naked-Truth Collection of Interviews with Today's Hottest Film Directors; In this sizzling look at the movie industry, twenty of today's most provocative young directors - from blockbuster kings to art house visionaries - deliver candid advice and insider secrets that every would-be director needs to know. Filled with insights they don't teach you in film school, this ultimate career resource offers readers access to some of Hollywood's greatest minds, including Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary), Kim Peirce (Boys Don't Cry), Amy Heckerling (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Clueless), John Schlesinger (Midnight Cowboy), Barry Sonnenfeld (The Addams Family, Men in Black), John Carpenter (Halloween), Neil LaBute (Nurse Betty, In the Company of Men) and many more! Uncovering how they went from dusting the spotlight to basking in it, Breaking in is an unprecedented look at the turning points of the ones who have made it to the major leagues - and continue to shape the movie industry and its art. A must for every aspiring filmmaker!
